A Day in the Life at LVFFS

Mornings at LVFFS start with time outside. We feel it’s important to allow the students the freedom to explore, connect with peers, and engage in self-led activities. Following this free time, students and teachers will hold a community meeting, where the group goes over the daily rhythm, activities and goals.

After our community meeting, students and teachers work collaboratively on their first academic block. Academic blocks include English language arts, social studies, math, land stewardship, project and art. Learn more about our curriculum here. Throughout the day, students are given opportunities to connect with nature through nature walks, “sit spots,” seasonal activities, and botanical studies. Students are encouraged to take the lead during these opportunities in nature to ask questions and share observations.

Lunch is often shared outdoors, followed by another period of free play and another academic block. We end the day with students and teachers coming together for a closing community circle before parents arrive.

  • SUMMER CAMP

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
